In einer Serie wird ein Motiv in verschiedenen Arbeitstechniken und mit unterschiedlichen künstlerischen Mitteln umgesetzt. Das Motiv wird dabei neu interpretiert. Es verbinden die einzelnen Arbeiten der Serie miteinander und lässt Freiraum für neue Darstellungsformen.

In a series, one motif is developed through various painting techniques and artistic interpretations. Hereby the initial inspiration for the series is re-interpreted in many ways. Singular works of the series are connected with each other and leave space for new ways of re-interpretation.

Das Brandenburger Tor 1988 / 1990

Vor dem Mauerfall konnte man das Brandenburger Tor von beiden Seiten nicht erreichen, es stand für die Teilung der Stadt. Bei meinen Besuchen in Berlin 1987 und 1988 habe ich das Tor von beiden Seiten gesehen - mit unseren Freunden aus Ostberlin als “Blick in den unerreichbaren Westen”. Am Tag der Deutschen Einheit 1990 war es ein unglaubliches Gefühl durch das Brandenburger Tor zu gehen!

Before the fall of the Berlin Wall, there was no way walking througt The Brandenburg Gate. It symbolised the division of the town. During my visits to Berlin in 1987 and 1988, I saw the gate from both sides - with our friends from East Berlin as a "glimpse into the unreachable West". It was an incredible feeling to walk through the Brandenburg Gate on the day of German reunification in 1990!

Der Apollo-Tempel in Rom
The Apollo Temple in Rome

Der Apollo-Tempel wurde im Jahre 431 v. Chr. eingeweiht. Die Römer hatten einige Jahre zuvor ein Gelübde abgelegt, dem Gott Apollo einen Tempel zu bauen, wenn er sie von einer Seuche befreite. Heute sind vom Tempel nur noch drei korinthische Säulen von 14 m Höhe und ein Architrav zu sehen.

The Temple of Apollo was consecrated in 431 BC. A few years before, the Romans had made a vow to build a temple to the god Apollo if he freed them from a plague. Remaining are three Corinthian columns 14 metres high and an architrave.

Der Saiger Weg
The Saiger Pathway

Der Weg wurde von mir so genannt, er trägt in Wirklichkeit einen anderen Namen. Ein Foto entstand als wir Freunde in Saig im Schwarzwald besuchten. Oft sind wir auf diesem Weg gegangen – vertieft in heitere und ernste Gespräche. Die Bilder erinnern mich an diese schönen Augenblicke.

I called the pathway like that, but it actually has a different name. A photo was taken when we were visiting friends in Saig in the Black Forest. We often walked along this pathway - having cheerful and serious conversations. The pictures remind me of these beautiful moments.
